FRUITS OF THE SEA - video installation

Picture
Picture
These aluminium food tins are laid out like a future museum specimen display. They once contained the 'Fruits of the Sea’, small fish at the bottom of the food chain that are incredibly important within our complex marine ecosystem. But now the tins are empty...
L
ooking down to the movement of the sea below we are reminded of the fragility of an inter-connected system of oceans and of the life that they sustain and of our responsibility as caretakers of the planet.
Continued unsustainable fishing practises and rising sea temperatures are putting these fish at a global risk of extinction.
